I’m going to Adobe MAX 2006 to learn a lot and bring knowledge back to my team. This is my contribution to Ben Watson post. He’s asking for some user demos so he can show them up at MAXUP.

This isn’t a proper application, but a charting and reporting framework we at DClick developed for a client, entirely built with Flex 2. With this framework, our client can built a new report fully featured with stylished charts, datagrid, drill-downs, print funcionality and so on in about eight steps, which include configuring a couple XML files and creating a few MXML files.

This shot is the system start, showing the available reports. Each new report our client created, appear here in a structed way. You can click on the pics to view them in full size.

There are different chart type the user can see, and the programmer can choose which will shown on specifics charts, configuring the XML files. This screen shows the three level drill down: the chart, datagrid and the detail panel.

On the datagrid, the user can also use filters, like this one on the column header, showing the available dates from that column. On columns with numbers, the filter allows to select them using greater than and alike operators, and so on.

Also in the datagrid, it’s also possible to speficy which columns to show. The user can also select specific rows to remove from sum, in a situation where a specific value distort the analysis.

This is a sample print. In spite of taking a real pic of the printed reported, I took a screenshot of the Office Document Imaging, since I “printed” the document with the Office Document Image Writed, pretty much like Adobe Acrobat. The printed report include the chart and the datagrid.

This one is me during a really, really rare moment: in vacation!
